MUSIC . DANCE . TESTIMONY

Requiem for Aleppo is a non-political artistic response to the human tragedy in Syria.

David Cazalet’s original score is a combination of Requiem Mass lyrics set to choral music and Arabic poetry from the 11th, 12th and 13th centuries. Choreographed by Jason Mabana, 12 dancers from around the globe explore themes of love, loss, anguish and hope. The performance is punctuated by real-life stories of people from Aleppo.

RAISING FUNDS FOR EDUCATION IN SYRIA

Requiem for Aleppo is a fundraising performance.  All money raised from ticket sales is being donated to organisations improving the lives of civilians in Syria.  Monies raised from our premiere at Sadler’s Wells and our performance at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe are being donated to Syria Relief Charity and Techfugees who are working together on a new educational programme for Syrian teachers.
